Editorial Policy

How we research, write and update our guides.

Our mission

We help beginners choose, use and care for tools safely. Every guide should leave a reader able to make a sensible decision or finish a job without guesswork.

How guides are researched

  • We rely on hands-on experience, manufacturer manuals and specification sheets, recognised safety guidance (for example OSHA, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and equivalent bodies) and vehicle and appliance service documentation.
  • Specifications and prices are checked at the time of writing. Because models and prices change frequently, we describe what to look for rather than relying on a single model name, and we label prices as approximate.
  • Where the correct answer depends on your tool, car or country (torque values, electrical codes, battery compatibility), we tell you where to find the authoritative figure instead of guessing.

Safety and professional advice

Our guides are general information. We clearly flag jobs that involve mains electricity, gas, structural work, vehicle brakes or lifting a vehicle, and we recommend a licensed professional where local law requires one or the risk is high.

Independence and advertising

The site is funded by display advertising from Google AdSense. Ads are placed automatically and are clearly separated from editorial content. Advertisers, manufacturers and retailers cannot pay for coverage, rankings or positive mentions. We do not currently use affiliate links; if that changes, affected pages will say so clearly.

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides regularly and when readers report problems. To report an error, email contact@powertoolscompleteguide.com with the page address.
